Private image registry

Push your own images and deploy them.

Every account can have a private registry at reg.dapply.solutions/<your account>. Push images to it with Docker or from your CI, then deploy them as sites. Only you, and your sites, can pull them.

Set it up

In the console open Images and choose Create my registry. You get a push login: a username like robot$yourname+push and a password shown once. Keep the password somewhere safe; if you lose it, make a new one on the same page (the old one stops working).

Push an image

docker login reg.dapply.solutions -u 'robot$yourname+push'
docker build --platform linux/amd64 -t reg.dapply.solutions/yourname/my-app:1.0.0 .
docker push reg.dapply.solutions/yourname/my-app:1.0.0

Keep the single quotes around the username: it contains a $.

From GitHub Actions

Add two repository secrets, DAPPLY_REGISTRY_USER and DAPPLY_REGISTRY_PASSWORD, then:

on:
  push:
    tags: ['v*']
jobs:
  image:
    runs-on: ubuntu-latest
    steps:
      - uses: actions/checkout@v4
      - uses: docker/login-action@v3
        with:
          registry: reg.dapply.solutions
          username: ${{ secrets.DAPPLY_REGISTRY_USER }}
          password: ${{ secrets.DAPPLY_REGISTRY_PASSWORD }}
      - uses: docker/build-push-action@v6
        with:
          push: true
          platforms: linux/amd64
          tags: reg.dapply.solutions/yourname/my-app:${{ github.ref_name }}

Then deploy the new tag from the site’s page.

Deploy

The Images page lists your images and their latest tags. Deploy next to a tag opens a new site with it filled in. For an existing site, enter the image and tag under Deploy a new version.

When the registry is full, pushes fail. Delete old images on the Images page, or upgrade. Layers shared between tags are stored once.
